John Mikel Obi, Odion Ighalo Arrive Super Eagles Camp For Egypt AFCON Clash

Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi and Watford forward Odion Ighalo have joined the Super Eagles camp in Abuja for Friday's Africa Nations qualifier against Egypt.

Aside Ighalo and Mikel, Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi, Turkey based Aminu Umar, Uniao da Madeira’s Abdullahi Shehu are the other internationals who had arrived the camp.

The Nigeria Football Federation said more players are expected at lunch time on Monday as training will begin in the evening by 4pm.

Boateng eyes April return for Bayern

The Germany international says he is trying to remain patient as he recovers from an adductor injury and is backing his side to beat Juventus in their Champions League last-16 tie

Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng is targeting an April return from his groin injury and says he remains hopeful he will feature at the summer's European Championship.

The 27-year-old was ruled out for three months after sustaining an adductor injury in Bayern's 2-1 win over Hamburg in January.

The Germany international has been restricted to 56 minutes of action since the mid-season break for Pep Guardiola's side but is hopeful of playing a part in the season run-in, while proving his fitness ahead of Germany's Euro 2016 campaign.

"My goal is to attempt to get back to training in April," Boateng told the club's official website. "It looks quite good so far but I won't set a date and put myself under pressure."

Boateng featured in all but one of Bayern's matches this season before his injury and concedes his enforced time on the sidelines has been frustrating.

"It's my first big injury. It's difficult, because I can't do what I love," he said.

"First I want to stand on the pitch for Bayern this season. Of course I want to go to the Euro, but the most important thing is to stay patient."
